I have something I’d like to say

All Stems from the Same Thing
What do all the mass shootings have in common…hmmmm

Invisible Obvious
I listened to a piece on NPR about why the FBI and DHS failed to issue an intelligence report before the Capitol insurrection.
They spoke to a guy who said it was “the invisible obvious”.
Basically, he said it was hard for them to recognize the fact that someone who looked like them could commit something so violent.
”Invisible obvious” stuck in my head and did not want to leave. This is what it looked like.
Google “invisible obvious NPR” to hear/read it.
And if you know this guy, please call the FBI.

Act Accordingly
I write backwards all the time. It’s something I started as a kid and now I do it to help me get the words out.
”We should just assume everyone is a survivor of something and act accordingly”

466 Petals
466 people killed in the top 25 mass shootings in the United States, according to Wikipedia yesterday (May 8, 2019)…but that could change at any moment.
EDIT - It keeps changing

compass + ion = compassion
I’ve been feeling, like most people in the world…a little lost.
Like our GPSes have sent us on the shortest, fastest route but maybe not the most pleasant and accommodating for all passengers. Our compass has lost or broken its ion.
Here’s a little reminder to be kind, and think about everyone on the journey.

Stronger Together
I’ve often felt that as a woman some men tried to water me down. I also see pink as a watered down red.
After participating in a local
Woman’s March, I wanted to make something that showed we were stronger together - like yarn is stronger woven together than as a single strand.

Human Dignity
While watching the Michael Moore film Where To Invade Next, I was inspired by the Lisbon police officer who said “human dignity is the backbone of our society”.
The simple act of valuing each person’s worth and showing one another respect is key to a thriving society.
